I've been really enjoying using a few products lately, so much so that I think they deserve a blogpost. There's nothing fancy here, just some simple products that I've been reaching for every day.

Loreal Gentle Eye Make Up Remover.
I really like this offering from Loreal for removing my eye make up. All I have to do is soak a cotton pad in the remover and it removes all of my eye make up with ease. It's very gentle and doesn't sting or irritate my skin. It's also suitable for contact lens wearers which I thought was worth mentioning. It's a simple product that does it's job well, I shall definitely be repurchasing.

Nivea Soft Moisturising Cream
I never thought I would be blogging about this but I have developed a genuine love for it. I blogged a while ago about my winter skin woes, and how the Avene Rich Recovery Cream was helping to moisturise my seriously dry skin. Unfortunately my skin continued to worsen with the bad weather, and I just could not get rid of the patches of dry and flaky skin on my face. I used up all of my Avene Cream in no time and just couldn't justify the expense with going through it at such a fast rate. On a complete whim I picked this up in my local supermarket, and I'm not being dramatic when I say I havn't looked back since. I was going to get a the original Nivea in the blue tub, but went for this as it specifically said "face" on the tub (I always feel weird about putting a body cream on my face, not sure why....) I use it in the morning and at night and my skin has never been as soft. It's an inexpensive boring product, but it's super moisturising, doesn't break me out, you get loads of it and it has made a huge difference in in the quality of my skin, and that for me makes it worth mentioning.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Gel Foundation

One of the best foundations I've used in a very long time. The list of positive things I could say about this product is endless, but I'll attempt to keep it brief. It gives the most gorgeous finish on the skin, doesn't break me out, or break the bank. It's a light but build-able coverage foundation that isn't heavy on the skin, is easy to apply and blends like a dream. The shade matches my skin perfectly, (52 Vanilla) it isn't drying and lasts for most of the day. I absolutely love this foundation and would highly recommend it.

Models Own Juicy Jules
Quite possibly my favourite glitter polish to date. If you love glitter and you don't own this nail polish, you need it. It is quite simply the perfect holographic glitter polish. Easy to apply, looks great alone or over the top of another polish, and only costs a fiver. What more could you ask for? A slight movement of your fingers in the light casts a rainbow of holographic glitter across your nails *happy sigh* It is however extremely difficult to photograph so I've included a couple of out of focus shots to try and get across the true intensity of the glitter in the right light. It is like a little party in a nail polish and I love it.

Monday Summary

1. I've finally got around to reading the Hunger Games and so far I'm absolutely loving it. The aim is to read it before the film comes out next month.

2. I also picked up Company magazine yesterday with Zooey Deschanel on the cover. I love the new look of the magazine, and I love Zooey Deschanel even more so it's a winning combination really. I can't wait to relax and read it this evening with a nice cuppa.

3. I got the most adorable Converse ever for Valentines Day. They are pink and spotty and I can not wait for spring to arrive so I can wear them. They are actually a much lighter shade of pink than in the photo, they're more of a baby pink. I also got some black ones which I have already worn to death so havn't photographed haha. You can't beat black converse with black jeans for those days when you can't be bothered.

4. I finally ordered my new bike a couple of weeks ago. I was debating on either the pink Pashley Poppy or the cream Pashley Britannia. After riding both of the bikes the Britannia (shown in picture above) was definitely the one for me. I've wanted a new bike for almost 2 years now, so as you can imagine I can't wait for it to arrive for my birthday next month. It seems rather fitting to leave you with some of the pretty bike photos I've collected whilst longing for a pretty bike of my very own. I have visions of balmy summer evenings riding home after a perfect picnic in the park. What a dreamer...

Quite simply a collection of photos that have been building up over the last few weeks and a combination of things that make me happy. Sorry for the lack of blogposts lately, it seems I have so much to write about and so little time to actually get them written down these days. I've got a list as long as my arm and so many photos ready to go for post's I want to do but at the moment I just can't seem to find the time. I think I need to start getting up earlier in the mornings to allow more time to get things done during the day. This could prove difficult considering the fact that I ~~hate~~ struggle with rising early... Not long until the weekend :)

Mark Hill Professional Rock Chick Wave Wand

Before my self imposed spending ban I picked up the Mark Hill Professional Rock Chick Wave Wand (quite a mouthful haha). It appealed to me for 2 reasons. Number one it was a larger all one size barrel compared to my current Babyliss Curling Wand, and number two, it was on offer in Boots at half price. It also comes with some finger pad gloves to avoiding burning your fingers (although I never use these) and a little style guide. The barrel is 32mm so produces large bouncy waves/curls. I really like the effect it gives, although I'm not sure this will work well on short hair because of the large barrel. I did burn my fingers a couple of times using it, but I think this is more down to the fact that I'm used to using a smaller conical barrel, I think once I've got used to using this I wont burn my fingers quite so much. Overall I think this is a nice curling wand, but I'm not sure I love it as much as my conical wand, and I don't think I would have paid full price for it. I think I might invest in a larger barrelled conical wand when my spending ban is lifted as I currently have the standard 25-13mm, so if you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments. Approaching Valentine’s Day, women tend to have a number of things to think about concerning how they want to present themselves to their husbands or boyfriends. For the men in our lives, things are often more simple – a man might simply be able to get away with a quick trip to Marks & Spencer for a nice jewellery gift and a bouquet of flowers, before taking his girlfriend or wife on a romantic date. But most women enjoy dressing up and making that extra special effort, in order to help make the evening a special occasion. This process can be a bit of a task, as you worry about your outfit, your makeup, your perfume, etc. – but it can also be very romantic and fun, as it is an opportunity to dress up in a way designed purely to make you appeal to your significant other. So, without further ado, here are some tips in advance of this year’s Valentine’s Day next month.

First, try to get a feel for what kind of date you will be going on. Often, this is something that the man will decide, and it is fairly common for the specific venue or type of date to be a surprise. However, if you have at least some idea in advance of whether your date will be formal or casual, at home or elsewhere – even inside or out – you will have a better idea of how you can dress for it.

Try to play into the Valentine’s Day theme a bit, even if it goes against your usual style – this doesn’t mean that you have to wear a red ribbon in your hair and dangle heart-shaped jewellery all over yourself. However, even if red and pink aren’t your usual colours, including a little bit of a traditional Valentine’s Day style can help you to strike a romantic tone with your appearance.

Pay attention to detail – even if you’re the kind of girl who usually doesn’t go too far with lip glosses or nail polishes, etc., a little bit extra will show your man that you went to a lot of effort to look the part for your Valentine’s Day date. You don’t want to be excessive, but it certainly can’t hurt to do a bit extra.

Finally, one thing that a lot of women enjoy when it comes to Valentine’s Day fashion and style is unique perfume. Again, this can quickly become excessive if not used correctly, but if there is any night during the year to appeal to your man’s sense of scent, it’s Valentine’s Day. The right perfume can enhance your overall appeal in almost mysterious ways, and can really help you to make a romantic gesture for your date.

I climbed a mountain!

What a day, yesterday I climbed Ingleborough, the second highest mountain in the Yorkshire Dales (and apparently the most difficult.) It took us 4 hours to climb it and 2 hours to get back down, with the round trip totalling about 8 miles. It was pretty brutal in places but was well worth it. It was lovely to get outdoors and appreciate the stunning surroundings all around. This is just the first of many more outdoor escapades to come as this year I fully intend on getting outside as often as I can, whether it be walking the dog, climbing a mountain (we've planned Ben Nevis for June), or cycling around on a balmy summers evening (more about my dream bike in another post.) All in all, I can't wait for my next adventure, the whole day reminded me to appreciate the beautiful scenery we have all around us as its sometimes easy to take it for granted.

Avene Rich Skin Recovery Cream

If like me, you're suffering from dry, chapped, and flaky skin in these cold winter months, Avene rich skin recovery cream might be just what you need. I've been using Avene Skin care for over 18 months now, and there just aren't enough words to express my love for their products. They do they trick without irritating my skin, leaving it feeling greasy or breaking me out. Over the last month or so my skin has taken a turn for the worse thanks to the cold weather and I ended up with dry, sensitive, irritated flaky skin. My usual moisturiser just wasn't doing the trick, neither was my Cetaphil or Oilatum Natural Repair face cream. The only thing I could use to combat the dryness was E45 Cream, but this felt very heavy and greasy on my skin. Cue Avene. Nicola recommended the Rich Skin Recovery Cream and I went out and grabbed a bottle straight away. I absolutely love it, it leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturised without feeling greasy or too heavy, and has banished my flaky skin. Other Avene Products I would recommend that I use are the Extremely Gentle Cleanser and the Light Hydrating Cream, both of which I have repurchased countless times. Have you ever tried any Avene products? If you have any other recommendations I'd love it if you shared them.

In other news, I got talked into climbing Ingleborough tomorrow! I'm equal parts terrified and excited. The bigger picture is to climb Ben Nevis in the summer, so we're going to do a series of "smaller" hill walks in preparation. I didn't even own a fleece/hat/waterproof coat but luckily I was treated to all of the above so I'm fully prepared (and I didn't break my spending ban). I'm taking my camera so hopefully if I don't collapse of exhaustion on the way up I'll have lots of lovely snaps to share with you. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Topshop Bits

I recently returned a few items to Topshop and this is what I exchanged them for. I love the pink bag, theres something about pale pink bags that instantly make me think of spring, its a great size and really reminds of the Cupcakes and Cashmere for Coach bag which I loved. I also managed to get my hands on this lovely floppy brimmed trilby. I've wanted it for a few months now but wasn't prepared to pay £25 for it. I tried on lots of others but nothing looked as good as this one. When I saw it in the sale for £12 I picked it up straight away. I was chuffed to bits when I got to the till and it was only actually £7. Last but not least I got some everyday wedge boots. Yes more black boots I know I know. I say everyday because they are high enough to make a difference and not look like an orthopaedic shoe but not so high that you couldn't risk wearing them out all day. Perfect for everyday wear.

I'm on a spending ban now for a month, so there wont be any hauls etc for a while, luckily I've got lots of things I still want to share with you that I havn't had chance to blog about yet so never fear haha! I hope you're all having a good week, not long to go now until the weekend. Yay!

Galaxy Nails

Couldn't resist adding a bit of Prodigy to this post, rather fitting song though!

So, here are my Galaxy Nails, Space Nails, Nebula Nails, Cosmic Nails, whatever you want to call them. After seeing this photo (and subsequently finding out it was photoshopped) I set out on a quest to recreate them as best I possibly could scouring lots of tutorials on blogs and Youtube. So I set about trying to do them and to be honest they looked rubbish, nearly all tutorials call for sponges, which after trying this technique I really don't think it works well. In the end my boyfriend had a go, and hand painted these onto my nails using and mixing various polishes. He's massively into art and astronomy and used my nails as little canvases. The star formations or "Nebula" are actually set in dust clouds, so they really do look like something straight off of the Hubble Space Telescope. It took quite a while but I think they look out of this world (pardon the pun haha) and I can't stop looking at them. From what I've seen there are no nail wraps or anything like this available yet, we were thinking if any of you are interested in having your own set of these, my boyfriend would be happy to craft a set of false nails for you for a small fee. Let me know in the comments, and if any of you are interested I will do a separate post on this.

The Hunger Magazine

If you buy one magazine this month make it The Hunger. Its a new bi-annual magazine from British Portrait and Fashion photographer Rankin. It's absolutely stunning and described as a magazine for the visually and culturally hungry. The photography inside is absolutely amazing, I am not exaggerating at all when I say it is really really beautiful, its more like a photography book than a magazine. Its jam packed with gorgeous photographs of famous faces and covers subjects such as the Arts, Fashion, Beauty, Interviews, and Documentaries. At over 500 pages thick its an absolute steal at £4. I spotted this in my local Tesco express and got the Rhys Ifans cover, although after visiting the Hunger website I would prefer the cover with the girl on it - I think its Sky Ferreira (and if I see it I'll probably buy it and give this copy to someone else). Below are just a few images I saw whilst flicking through it, I can't wait to sit down and absorb the whole thing. Honestly if you haven't already, go buy it, I for one will definitely be subscribing.

One day we're gonna get so high

Its all about the fur for me at the moment now that the winter chill has well and truly arrived. I've been wearing my lovely Topshop coat that I got last year, and this week my faux fur leopard coat arrived from Forever21. I've been debating whether to keep or return it, but tonight finally decided to embrace my inner Bet Lynch/Kat Slater and remove the tags and keep it. For £32 its a steal considering the one in Topshop is about £95, in terms of fit I'm a size 12 and ordered a medium and its quite roomy. Its lovely and warm, and looks great paired with simple items.
In other news I'm coming down with some sort of bug, I feel terrible but I'm powering through. Think I'm going to order a pizza tonight and just chill out and watch a film. Recently I watched Bridesmaids, Horrible Bosses, Midnight in Paris and The Dilemma. I'd recommend all apart from The Dilemma, it was absolutely pants.
I've got a couple of bits I want to blog about namely an amazing leather jacket from River Island, and my new Mulberry New York Clipper, so keep your eyes peeled for those. Last but not least the cream and blue jumper I wore in this post was from Primark!

This weekend I thought I'd try my hand at baking. Its not something I get chance to do often, but theres something very satisfying about baking something yourself from scratch. This week on the menu were chocolate chip cookies and brownies, and they were absolutely delicious! When I was asked if I wanted to review an item from the Hustle Collection I immediately chose these gorgeous Gold Peep Toe Wedges. These beauts will be perfect for the christmas season paired with a party frock, and although they have a 15cm heel height, they are actually really comfortable thanks to the huge platform! They are also more gold in reality than in these photos but the lighting in my house isn't so great now the winter season is upon us (boo!)

New hair and nails at Trevor Sorbie Manchester

So a few weeks ago me, Gem and Nic were treated to complimentary blow drys at Trevor Sorbie in Manchester. As if that wasn't fab enough, the salon then said we could go back to have our hair and nails done! Now you all know how precious I am with my hair, 2 cuts in 2 and a half years and no dying whatsoever has resulted in me finally getting my natural hair colour and my long locks back. I knew that I was in need of a trim though and needed my ombre redoing so I promptly booked my appointment for just that. I honestly can not tell you how happy I am with the results, the amazing colourist Lily worked wonders with the balayage technique to create the most gorgeous creamy blonde throughout the ends of my hair, and even better she didn't have to use any bleach to achieve the gorgeous blonde colour because I now have all my own natural hair colour! Stylist May was true to her word and literally took the tiniest of tiny trims off the length of my hair just as I asked.

I then had my nails done by the hilarious Jamie. I had a gel manicure (think Gelish and Shellac) using Artistic Colour Gloss. I went for the most gorgeous glittery red that looks just like Dorothy's slippers called "Hotness"

This is my first ever gel manicure and I have had SO many compliments on my nails, I will definitely be having this done again when they need redoing. Apparently it lasts between 2-3 weeks and my nails already feel stronger. If you are thinking about having a gel manicure I would definitely recommend it.

Overall I had a wonderful experience, which for someone who is terrified of the hairdressers is quite a result. The salon staff were lovely and friendly, Lily, May and Jamie were fab, and the salon itself its gorgeous. I even saw Trevor Sorbie himself around the salon when I went for my consultation. When it comes to getting my hair trimmed again (in about 6 months lol) I will most definitely be heading back. Massive thanks are in order to Trevor Sorbie Manchester for my lovely hair and nails and restoring my faith in hair salons!

And what it all comes down to, is that everything's gonna be fine fine fine

Quick outfit post showing you what I wore today. Major love to Arlene for her blogpost alerting us to the fact that this gorgeous faux fur trim cardigan was reduced by 50% from £50 to £25 in Topshop. I hotfooted it straight to Toppers after I read her post and bagged myself one. Its so lovely on, and really toasty and warm. A real winner :) I had my hair and nails done today, more about that though tomorrow, I'm super sleepy xx

1. Went to the Bradford on Sunday for a wander around at the Christmas lights switch on. We heard that there were all sorts of ice sculptures there which is the main reason we went down. By the time we got there they had all melted lol.

2. I finally had my first Physiotherapy appointment yesterday for my back and knee injuries sustained whilst running. Here's hoping in a couple of months I'll be fighting fit again.

3. I'm going to get my hair and nails done tomorrow at Trevor Sorbie in Manchester and I can't wait! I'm having my ombre redone and having the blonde taken up a bit higher now my hair is longer, and maybe having a little trim too. I'm also having my nails done which will be lovely! I'll upload a full post and lots of photos about it this week.

4. I finally finished the Handmaids Tale by Margaret Atwood. My friend lent it me and I've been reading it on an off for a while, but this week I finally finished it off. Its a brilliant dystopian/totalitarian novel so if you're into that sort of thing I'd really recommend it. I'm now reading A little history of Philosophy and Rivers of London, which I already know I am going to love after the first chapter. Last but not least I've ordered The Hunger Games Trilogy after seeing a trailer for the film at the cinema, I've heard lots of good things on Twitter so I'll be getting stuck into them next. Feta and Mint Filo Pastry Parcels

So yesterday I decided to have a go at making some Feta & Mint Filo Parcels after having them at a Tapas restaurant a few months ago. Let me tell you they were absolutely divine and relatively easy to make. Would highly recommend if you fancy trying something new. I served them with a simple mixed leave salad with balsamic dressing. So good. I found the recipe here. Next up I'm trying something with Wensleydale or Lancashire Cheese. Enjoy!

For the wrapping:

225g/½lb filo pastry

60g/2 oz butter OR 3 tbsp oil, OR half of each *I used butter*

For the filling:

300g spinach *I only used 150g of baby spinach*

4 spring onions chopped

125g/4oz cottage cheese

125g/4oz Wensleydale or feta cheese

few chopped mint leaves

black pepper *I used white pepper as that's what I prefer*

Method/Steps

Wash the spinach well and steam briefly
Crumble or grate the Wensleydale/feta into a bowl containing the spring onions and cottage cheese.
Squeeze the excess liquid out of the spinach and chop it up.
Add it to the cheese mixture, add the herbs and pepper and mix to a paste. Season to taste.

To wrap the pastries:

Melt the butter. Put the oil and/or melted fat into a small bowl with a pastry brush.
Using a sharp knife, cut the pastry into strips about 3" X 10" and cover with clingfilm.
Lightly grease a baking tray. Turn oven to 180°C, 375°F, Gas 5.
Take one strip of filo and brush it with melted fat. Put a small teaspoon of filling at one end and roll up, or fold over into a triangle shape.
Put the pastries on baking sheet, brush tops lightly with melted butter/oil. Bake in pre-heated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Rabito Bunny Case

So my Rabito iPhone case finally arrived this week. I ordered it from Harrods last week after seeing them all over the blogosphere. I absolutely love it. You can remove the tail if you don't want it on, but it acts as a screen stand which is cool if you're watching a film or youtube video on your phone, and you can use the fluffy tail to wipe your screen. You can also wrap your headphones around the ears or the tail too. It's really fun and I've already had lots of lovely comments about it :)

Loving & Hating

I was reading Arlenes Blog earlier, and I realised how much I used to LOVE doing In/out Loving/Hating Hot/Not Blogposts! I haven't done one forever so thought it was time they made a comeback on my blog.

LOVING

My new bag. I got this from Topshop today and I really love it. Its not for everyone but I wanted it as soon as I saw it, so naturally I listened to my instincts and purchased it straight away haha. It's got one of those little faux fur tails that are everywhere at the moment. Also I don't own any furry bags at all which in my mind totally justifies buying it!

My silly slippers. I also got these in Topshop, I've been wanting to get some of these slipper shoe loafer affairs for ages now but never knew whether or not they were actual slippers or shoe slippers. I can confirm that they are in fact shoes, that look and feel like slippers. Once again not for everyone, but I think they are super cute, and they are SO comfy! I've ordered some more in a different style so I'll upload some pics when they arrive.

Freebie Nails Inc Polishes with Glamour. I've got Basil Street and Tate. I'm wearing Basil Street at the moment which is a fleshy nude colour which is quite nice. I've still got to try Tate but everyone loves a freebie don't they? :)

I finished A Discovery of Witches this week. Absolutely loved it and would highly recommend, got a few books lined up but not sure what to read next. Will let you know when I decide!

I've downloaded a couple of new Apps this week for my iPad, Brushes and Inspire Pro Paint and Sketch. Apparently David Hockney uses Brushes, and some of the examples of art thats been done using the apps is amazing! Would highly recommend if you like doodling.

Today's song is Levels by Avicii which is my favourite version of this tune, Flo Rida is also bringing a version of this out and its called "Good Feeling" which is also pretty awesome. (see video below)

HATING

Loreal True Match Foundation. Bought this on a complete whim in the supermarket. My skin is in such a state after wearing this for a couple of days. The foundation itself just sits on top of the skin and slides around, and I've broken out quite badly. Not for me unfortunately.

Our broken boiler. Why is it boilers always break in winter? We're without heating and hot water until the boiler gets fixed at some point of this week. Not impressed!

Charles Worthington dry shampoo. It left me with seriously grey hair that didn't show up until outside of the house, resulting in me looking absolutely ridiculous. Nuff said.

I've ordered a few different bits and bobs that should be arriving this week, and I've got lots to blog about so stay tuned :) I'm also thinking about redoing my ombre this week so will try and do a step by step guide. Here's a couple of random photos I needed to use up. Happy Sunday.

Finally got a new coat after a nightmare trying to get the one I wanted from Zara. Anyway I got this from New Look, they did it in a khaki/grey colour too, and I wanted to get them both! I really love the fluffy hood trim (which is detachable) It also had 30% off so I got it for the bargain price of £24.99. The fox necklace is also from New Look and was half price so I got it for about £3.

Current Read - A Discovery of Witches

I ordered this on a whim from Amazon. The Sunday Times reckons its "Intelligent and off the wall, it will be irresistible to Twilight fans." I've started reading it and so far so good. I've also been reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, full of magic and mystery, I first blogged about it at the beginning of October, and I would highly recommend.

Last but not least I finally finished Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. It was ok, but at times I just didn't want to carry on reading it, it was more than a little bit slow and boring. In the end it was alright, but on the whole a little bit blah. I'm hoping A Discovery of Witches will be more up my street.

I'm going to be placing another Amazon order this week, I'd love any book recommendations or to know some of your favourite reads.

Its been a while since I did one of these posts. I'm going to start doing more beauty and review posts again, I used to do them alot in the early days, so here's to more reviews.

I've been absolutely loving this perfume, its perfect for winter, really warm and sensual fresh oriental fragrance. Ghost Deep Night as with the majority of my perfumes, contains my favourite notes of vanilla, amber, and white woods. This mixed with delicate notes of apricot and sensual peach makes for a really lovely feminine fragrance. I can't get enough of it and keep doing that thing when you sneakily sniff your wrist once the fragrance settles. I'm not the only one to do this am I?

A while ago when I last got my hair cut I went to my local Tony & Guy Salon and had a trim. When they washed my hair and I smelt the shampoo I asked what it was they were using. It was this, the label.m Honey and Oat Shampoo and Conditioner. I've wanted some for ages, I absolutely love the scent of this, and its leaves my hair feeling gorgeous and soft. I've got a few more label.m products I want to share with you but I'll save that for another post.

I said hello to a couple of old friends over the past couple of weeks. Namely Barry M Mushroom, and New York Color Minute in Manhattan. I've had both of these polishes for ages, but whenever it gets to this time of year I bring them out and fall in love with them all over again. Barry M Mushroom should be a staple for everyones nail polish collection. Manhattan is a deep purple toned burgundy shade, which needs 2 or 3 coats for maximum coverage and glossiness.

Two brow palettes both fantastic. I received my HD Brows Pallet in my GlossyBox last month. I received the palette in Vamp, which I think would be suitable for most people. The packaging is lovely (it comes with a minature brush not in the photo) and it creates a really nice finished brow. The new Sleek Brow Kit is equally as good, and at a much more affordable price. I got the palette in light which is good for people with a mid brown/mousey hair colour. My brows match my hair, and normally I take them a bit darker but this is a pretty good match for my brows so I've been really enjoying using this. It contains a setting powder, wax, and some miniature brow tools. I'm probably going to go and buy the Dark palette aswell for when I fancy going a bit darker. Out of the two I would probably recommend the Sleek Brow Kit as its affordable, easy to use and gives you a really nice finish. Unless you fancy a splurge, then go for HD Brows, either way both are great.

I'm still undecided about these products. I've got a selection of different skin care products to try from this brand but these are the first two I've tried so far. Rose Day Cream and Rose Day Cream Light. These are Dr Hauschka's Hero Products. The Rose Day Cream is an extremely rich moisturiser containing the extract of over 1,075 organic rose petals. The Rose Day Cream light is obviously the lighter less intense version. I really like the way they leave my skin feeling, but they are so strongly scented. I've never used a moisturiser on my face before that has such an overpowering fragrance. It obviously smells of roses, and lots of them. If strongly scented face products don't bother you then this is a really lovely product. I'm currently weighing up whether or not I like it enough to continue to use it despite the scent, as I think it will be a fantastic moisturiser for the upcoming winter months.

Last but not least it would be criminal not to mention my new toy. After all of the problems with my MacBook, Apple finally decided to replace it.. With a MacBook Pro. I'm absolutely thrilled and love it to bits. Happy Days!

Tuna and Feta Salad

So when I'm watching what I eat, this is one of my favourite go to salads. If you were wondering why I'm eating tuna when I decided to go veggie a couple of months ago it's because being a full vegetarian isn't for me. I felt tired alot and found I was eating cheese with every other meal. I still avoid meat the majority of the time and try to only eat organic locally sourced meat when I do eat it.
Anyway, this salad is really easy to put together and its seriously tasty.
All you need to do is get some mixed salad leaves, add some chopped cucumber and spring onion, about a third of a can of tuna in springwater (drained) add some cubed feta cheese, a few croutons and your preferred salad dressing, et voila!
I like the Jamie Oliver Salad in a yellow packet, it's usually on offer for £1 and you get a gorgeous cucumber dressing with it.

In other news my MacBook is broken again. Luckily I have apple care but this is the third repair in less than 12 months. Not cool. Its getting fixed now so I'm blogging from my iPad. Dad bought me a nifty iPad camera adapter kit so I can still get my photos uploaded and blog. If anyone's interested I'm using the Blogpress app after Nicola recommended it to me. Don't use Blogger it's the pits!

Edit: I had major problems with the upload and resizing of images doing this post. Do any of you know of any apps I can use to resize my photos on the ipad before I upload them to my blog? Why is nothing ever easy eh?!

Topshop Psychic Boots

These boots command respect. I clocked them on Friday in the Trafford Centre, nearly died when I looked at the price. I spent all night deliberating over them. Then on Saturday I went back to get them, and let me just say, I'm so glad I did. I rang up to reserve 2 pairs, one in a five and one in a six *Mental* When I got there and tried them on the size 5 were perfect. So comfortable and literally the perfect fit.

The leather, the chunky black heel, the studding, the tassels, the tapered toe, the metal details. These boots really are the shizz. I have to say though, I am thinking about removing the tassels and replacing them with just a plain leather zipper. What do you think? Don't get me wrong I think they look awesome with them, but they might look even better without?

The only thing I am going to say is that these boots are on the pricey side. If I hadn't won some cash at "Open the Box" at the Pub Quiz I probably wouldn't have been able to justify them. However, on that note after purchasing them, I do think they are worth the splurge. They look even better in the flesh than in the photos and they are seriously comfy. You can buy them from the Topshop website they don't look anywhere near as nice on the site as in reality, but don't let that put you off! >> LINK

Looking over your shoulder girl

I am absolutely in love with everything in this post. You will notice a leopard print theme emerging lately. Paired with black I think you can get away with it. This blouse from New Look is lovely on, really glad I picked up up. On Saturday night we went looking for shooting stars - apparently theres meant to be a lot of them around this week, and then we set off a chinese lantern. It was the perfect opportunity to whip out my new hat from River Island. I love it even though I know I really shouldn't. I feel a little bit like a five year old with it on but who cares!? Its cute, fun, and keeps me warm. AND its grey leopard print! I also went a bit mad on the fur theme (in my defence it was really cold) and wore my gorgeous fur coat from Topshop. I bought mine last year but I do believe they have brought them out again this winter. (Will try and find a link for you) I also bought some AMAZING boots yesterday. But more of that tomorrow. 1. Lola Lola is finally LIVE! 3. I did a massive spring clean in my bedroom yesterday. I seriously went to town on it, the wardrobe, the drawers, everything was left spic and span. It feels so good to go to sleep and wake up in a lovely clean bedroom instead of the usual post apocalyptic state its in.

Sorry it's been a while guys. I've been working very long hours and making the most of the gorgeous weather we've been having in the UK. I've managed to take lots of snaps to share with you all though! I've mostly been reading books - The Radleys is amazing, I read it in less than 2 days (and if I'd have been alone I would have finished it within a day) if you like Vampires and you like reading, you need this in your life. I've also been drinking lots of Dr Pepper, spending time with friends, and eating good food. A couple of photos taken this week. I made a home made pizza and it turned out well! I will post the recipe up in another post this week. It was absolutely delicious and I ate the whole thing to myself.

Currently playing today's song on repeat. I love the 80's throwback vibe its got going on, it makes me want to dance around my bedroom on my own in my pyjama's! Its from Nero's new album Welcome Reality, if you like dubstep/drum & bass you will love this album! Would highly recommend, the whole album just has a sort of epic vibe to it. Particularly enjoying "Crush on You" as well.

I finally got the grey version of the Alexander Wang "Focco" Bag. After reading Laura's post about it a while ago I kept thinking about this bag. It really is absolutely gorgeous, the prettiest grey shade with lilac/mauve tones to it. It's absolutely perfect for the transition into Autumn/Winter, and for the price? Well its £30 very well spent I say. I should also add the eBay seller I bought from is excellent. I ordered the bag before 3pm and it promptly arrived the following day. If you don't already own this bag and have been thinking about buying it. What are you waiting for? I guarantee you will adore it as much as I do.

So if you watched my Warehouse Haul video you'll know that I intended on exchanging a couple of things. Well I picked up this gorgeous metallic jumper, a leopard print snood, and black knit with leather lapels and pockets. I love them all, but my favourite is by far the metallic knit, its a little rough on the outside but nice and soft on this inside, and lovely and warm too.

The spending ban is also going well. Not. I was intending on saving up for the pink Miu miu which I have wanted for a while now, coincidentally the one Laura just bought. Its a beaut of a bag but at the moment my savings are being depleted thanks to life. You know the drill, one minute you have £20 in your purse then the next minute you've a few pound coins left and no idea what you've spent it on. In my case its usually petrol, snickers, cans of diet coke, and chewing gum. Anyhow I digress. I bought a couple of things this weekend, which to be fair two items were essentials, and one was a luxury. I repurchased my Mac Studio Fix Fluid and Hue lipstick, both absolute necessities in my make up bag. Then I was lured to the Dior counter and ended up buying an eyeshadow trio. I've never bought any Dior shadows before but I'm suitably impressed with them. I absolutely adore the packaging, and the colours are beautiful. Obviously nice and neutral, but perfect for slapping on effortlessly and still looking good. I'm wearing my new make up in the photos in this post, if you were wondering.

Also my other favourite thing right now is pastel nail polish. Think pale pinks and lilacs. Think I'm going to pick up a couple of the new Rimmel Aqua Pro polishes because they have some lovely pastel colours.

Anyway friends, until next time, stay nice and warm out of this horrid weather we're having in the UK, and drink lots of tea and read books. I'm currently reading a few books (I have a habit of reading several books at once) but mainly "A little history of the World" which is excellent if you like history, and I'm thoroughly enjoying reading it. I've also bought Karl Pilkington's An Idiot Abroad Travel Dairies, The Help, and When God was a Rabbit to read this month. Can you say Book Worm?

Monday Summary on a Tuesday - Photo Diary

What an action packed week! Ended up in Blackpool at 11pm last Monday to go walk along the front and listen to the Ocean. Then on Sunday I went to Chester Zoo which I absolutely loved. The weather was absolutely gorgeous right up until the point in which we left. I also caught up with one of my friends and had Tapas for the first time which was yummy. My outfit details from these photos will be updated in a separate post later on today!

How are we all enjoying this bank holiday monday? This post is mainly about my current diet and fitness choices. I've been getting lots of comments that I look much better in myself and that I look to have lost weight. Thank you so much for these lovely comments, they really make my day and motivate me to keep it up. I have lost weight (almost a stone) and I'm really enjoying life at the moment.

Thought I'd include this pic as I'm wearing blue on my water line for the first time in forever!

1. I've decided to give vegetarianism a go. I've been veggie on and off since I was around 8 years old but never fully committed. I've based this decision on educating myself more about what I'm eating and reading and watching various documentaries about the conditions of slaughter houses, the cruel and inhumane practices which animals are subject to, and the amount of antibiotics, steroids and growth hormones that are pumped into them. I'm not going to start preaching or justifying myself, and it may not even last but at least for now I'm avoiding meat and enjoying my new lifestyle.

2. In addition to this for a while now I've been eating more and more organic produce. I've been going to my local farm shop where everything is grown locally and is completely organic. I know there's conflicting research regarding whether organic is actually better, but I have been doing this mainly from the standpoint of less chemical toxins, no genetic modification, and it benefits my local farmers.

3. A bit of a downer is the injuries I've picked up from running. Its not looking good for my half marathon. If you follow me on Twitter you will already know about a month ago I picked up a nasty back injury after a 4 mile run. I damaged the large muscle at the right of my spine and have subsequently picked up a rather painful knee injury. There is very little I can do but rest, pretty much all exercise is off limits - which is absolutely killing me. I love working out but everything I try results in me being in pain for a few days. As soon as I physically can, I'll be training again, but until then its just lots of rest.

4. I'm trying to impose a spending ban on myself. This is proving EXTREMELY difficult. I'm saving up for something special, and trying to sell some of the things I don't use anymore. When I was going through everything I dont use and was thinking about selling, I felt ridiculous and more than a little self indulgent.. Not cool. So much money wasted. From now on I'm going to really think about buying something before I just go in all guns blazing and buying useless crap that I'll end up selling in the future.

They bought me a couple of gorgeous rings, an Austrian Crystal one from Portobello Road that shines different colours all of the time because of the cut of the crystal and an owl ring which is cute as a button. I'm bringing sexy back - Feat Topshop AIM Boots

Believe me when I say these are one of the sexiest pair of boots you will ever see. The Topshop AIM Boot. I went and did it. I ordered them in the next size up. Here's the story. I originally bought them in a size 5 which were just too small. I subsequently sold them and couldn't decide whether to get them in the next size up because I thought they would be too big. Then someone commented on one of my youtube videos where I mentioned my dilemma and suggested adding an insole. Why didn't I think of that? Low and behold they arrived this morning with some other bits that I will share tomorrow. I absolutely adore them. These are some seriously sexy boots.

Two outfit posts in one day, whats happening in the world haha! I'm blogging like a mad woman now I have my camera back in action. Some of you may remember I won the Warehouse WareStyle Treats a few weeks ago. If you're not aware I basically received a LOT and I mean a lot of clothes from them because I was having a bad day and they wanted to cheer me up. The gave followers on their Twitter and Facebook profiles treats every day for a month and I was lucky enough to be chosen! Anyway to cut a long story short some of the things I received didn't fit well or just didn't look right on me, and they were kind enough to let me go to to my local store and swap them. There was nearly £500 of clothes in total that I could swap - cue me in a supermarket sweep type episode in Warehouse the other night. Isn't that just the most perfect situation? I thought so! Anyway I'll be sharing with you all the things I chose over the next few outfit posts and will also be doing a HUGE haul video showing them all! I absolutely love this dress, super flattering and feels lovely on. I also found my camera lead. Major smiley face!

Monday Summary

Monday Summary's are back in effect! So without further ado:

1. I placed a cheeky Topshop order this evening. Can't wait for it to arrive. Will update as soon as its here. Also curled my hair with the conical wand today which was a nice change as I havn't done it for a while.

2. I helped my mum and dad get away for a holiday this week. It's the first time they've ever been away together for more than a couple of days in the whole 25 years they've been together. So I'm really pleased that I managed to help to sort it out for them.

3. I picked up a lovely white watch from Argos by "Identity" and it was only £9.99. I loved my other white Chanel inspired watch by Sekonda but I've lost it somewhere so this was a good replacement.

4. Went to see some live music at the pub with some friends on Friday night and then for pizza with the family on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Here's a little video I recorded at the pub on Friday...

I've been working flat out for the last couple of weeks, working all hours god sends to be totally honest. It's hard work but it's all good. Other than that things are pretty much the same with me. The skin care goodies shown in the photos are my two holy grail skin care items. I can't recommend either enough, it's even better that I got them with my Boots points that I've accumulated. I'm still without my camera charger. I've got separation anxiety I swear. I'm going to order one tonight from Amazon in the hope that it does the trick. Hopefully in my next post my photos will be back on form. My Macbook is also broken again, luckily I bought Apple Care when I bought it so its getting repaired as I type. Not impressed though, its the second time in less than 8 months its needed repairs doing! Oh well, at least its getting fixed.

I've had a fantastic weekend. Yesterday I spent the day with Gemma and Nicola at the Trafford Centre. No words can express how perfect the day was. I laughed so so much!

I bought the most AMAZING trench coat ever from Topshop. LINK. I absolutely adore it. Just much as I adore my new loafers from River Island. LINK. So comfy and the perfect fit. I've just ordered them in Leopard print too. LINK. I also got a cute tee and some jeggings from Zara, perfect for slouching around in.

Today I went to the book shop with mummy and picked up a few books. There was a few more books I wanted to get too but settled for the 3 I wanted the most in the end. The Waterstones in Bradford is by far the most beautiful shop I have ever been in. I could get lost in there for hours. I'm going to go back with my camera one day and take some better photos to show you its real beauty!
