88

Today is my Grandad's 88th birthday. Sadly my Grandad passed away last week very suddenly. As you know we were very close and I took care of him for the last 3 years. It has been quite a blow to say the least but I wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate his life and honour him on my blog.

My Grandad was one of the most kindest, loving, special people in my life. Only now do I truly realise how much I was influenced by him and the similarities we shared. A love of photography and list writing are just two of the things we had in common. I will treasure the memories we made together and I'm thankful that we were so very close even though it makes this much harder. Until we meet again...

  6. I'm so sorry for your loss, Kelly, hope you and your family are okay. I lost my granddad when I was 11, and I'm so sad that I didn't get to know him better as an adult. xx

  7. I lost my Grandad 2 years ago now, and like you, i was extremely close to him. I took care of him everyday until i went to university where i was living 3 hours away, but still phoned him up and went back home to visit frequently. There is honestly no love like a grandparents and cannot understand people who don't have any interest in spending time with older people. We used to do so much together, whether it be going through his old cameras and other hidden gems in the garage or teaching him how to find his favorite music on youtube, we always had fun. I promise it gets better :) I think about him everyday but with happiness, not sadness anymore. xx
