The past couple of weeks seem to have flown by in quite a bit of a blur. I cant quite put my finger on why but it certainly feels like time has been going a little too fast!
1. A couple of weeks ago it was my besties birthday so we decided to celebrate with a much needed night out. We decided on The Alchemist in Leeds - a cool bar that everyone seems to be talking about at the moment. They serve food and amazing cocktails so we thought we'd give it a whirl. it was an amazing evening, the food was great and the cocktails were incredible. There's colour changing ones, smoking ones, ones served in test tubes, potion bottles, and even some served in teacups. If you havn't been already I would highly recommend it!
2. I have wanted to learn how to crochet for months now and this weekend I decided to give it a go. I've only got 1 hook and some spare balls of wool from my mum and Craigs mum but its enough to get me started. I've been watching Youtube videos for inspiration and I've started learning basic stitches. I'm dreaming of a Cath kidston Sewing box and basket to keep my bits and bobs in (hurry up payday) and I've been pinning ideas that a crazy lady! I'll be whipping up granny squares in no time with a bit of luck!
3. Last weekend saw me and Craig embark on a slightly adventurous birthday cake for one of my work mates. What started out as what we thought was quite a straight forward and simple idea rapidly escalated in us staying up until 1am extremely stressed and covered in chocolate and icing sugar! It all turned out to be worth it in the end as my friend loved his Jurassic Park cake and it tasted pretty yummy too!
4. Yesterday I visited somewhere I've been wanting to cross off my list for some time - Malham. Its less than an hours drive away from us so yesterday we took advantage of the weather and headed up there. With a picnic packed and our walking boots on we visited the beautiful Malham Cove, climbed up the 400 steps to the top and then walked in a big circle visiting a couple of waterfalls along the way. It was such a gorgeous day out in every way and we're really lucky to have the Yorkshire Dales on our doorstep.
