A grand old manor house set it beautiful gardens just outside of York. Castle Howard has been voted one of the best mansions in the world. Filled with history walking through the old house you are transported back through time to the 1700's, beautiful murals adorn the walls and ceilings with dramatic architecture and baroque influences throughout. I've heard about Castle Howard but never visited before so it was nice to finally get to see it.
I've always wanted to visit Whitby and see the Abbey Ruins and Dracula's Church. I was super happy I finally got to visit. Of course the obligatory fish and chips and ice cream we're consumed, as well as a gorgeous stroll along the beach at the end of the day.
A few weeks ago my Grandad asked if when the weather was nice I would take him to Fleetwood. So last week I booked Friday off work and whisked him away to the seaside. We had a fabulous day (more fish and chips were consumed) and for the most part we just sat and looked out at the ocean and took tons of photos on his old SLR.
One of my favourite childhood places. Blackpool never changes and never tries to be anything different than it always has been. Gloriously tacky. The smells and the sights are still the same and transported me back to being a kid. Blackpool provides a rose tinted nostalgia like no other . It was my favourite day out. We went to the Pleasure Beach, and although I didn't go on any rides I loved walking around taking everything in and reminiscing about my favourite things there. After another portion of fish and chips (shameful I know but when at the seaside its almost criminal not to) a stroll along the beach and spending way to much money in the amusements trying to win a minion, it was time to head home, tired but happy and content.
