Sunday Summary

I've been wanting to write this blog post for a while now. I've been so so busy for the last month however that I just havn't had the time to sit down at my laptop. After working overtime every week night for the past three weeks my weekends have been devoted to spending time with my other half and cramming in everything I need to get done. So in short here's what I have been up to.

This weekend aside we've been having some lovely weather lately so I thought it was about time to do a spot of gardening. First up we decided to give our battered old garden bench a bit of a makeover. It was so simple to do and I absolutely love the finished result. I was thinking about doing a blogpost on how I did it if anyone would be interested?

I also bought some pretty garden flowers including this gorgeous hydrangea after seeing Jo's on Instagram.

Next up I accompanied Craig on a 30 mile charity bike ride last weekend. A couple of guys he had planned to do it with let him down at the last minute so I said I would go along with him instead. Now considering I havn't been able to do much exercise over the past few weeks because of my long hours this was quite a challenge. I was absolutely shattered by the end of it - but so proud of us for doing it. Craig is super fit anyway, and although I do cycle every week this is by far the longest bike ride to date! The weather was gorgeous and the route we took was beautiful, and all in all I had a great day. Sore wasn't the word though for the next 2 days!

I've also been trying to get back to cooking more meals from scratch. I've been doing this for a few weeks and thoroughly enjoying it. If any of you have followed my blog for a long time you will know I'm a big fan of cooking and baking, maybe you will remember my "Cooking with Kelly" videos on Youtube? Those were the days haha! On the menu have been home made chilli, my favourite salads, apple pie, sweet potato fritters, roasted veggies, Love Audreys chocolate banana loaf (a firm favourite for a long time now), and spanish chicken, to name a few! I was thinking about sharing the recipes on here too so maybe I will start doing that?

Finally, I am sorry that I dont get the time to blog and tweet as much as I used to. It is something that plays on my mind alot and I really really do miss blogging. The only thing that stops me is time. I am such a busy person, a lot has changed in my life in the past 12 months and some times life just gets in the way. I will try harder though - promise :)

  2. Thank you for the wee mention Kelly, made my evening :)

I must admit I was thrilled to see a post from you pop up in my reader, but I totally understand what you mean about there never being enough time. In an ideal world I'd have a post up everyday, but it's just not going to happen! I do think it's important to make time for the things you love though, so I hope you can squeeze the odd post in now and then.

Don't apologise not blogging, it'd be good to be able to do it everyday but living life is more important.

  5. I could not imagine jumping in at the last minute for a 30 mile bike ride. You must have just been jelly by the end of it. All of your pictures are awesome. I love what you have done with the bench.
