Everything about my hair

So this is one of my most requested posts, and I've finally got around to doing it. It's all about my hair, what I do with it, what  I dont do with it, what products I use, all that good stuff.

So I should start by saying I havn't had a haircut for around 18 months. I plan on having it cut when its long enough that I wont cry if I get too much cut off. I also havn't coloured my hair for the same amount of time. As a result I now have ombre hair, with my natural hair colour at the root fading to much lighter at the ends. I do however intend to keep my hair ombre for the foreseeable because I really like it on myself. So if you've ever wondered about the colouring now you know. I havn't edited any of the photos in this post so you can get a true idea of the colour of my hair.

So the most logical process to run through this is shampoo & conditioner, styling tools, then styling products. Lets go!

My shampoo of choice is Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner. I also love Kerastase Shampoos and Conditioners but only buy those when I'm feeling extravagant. In terms of dry shampoos I tend to use Batiste or Osmo Day Two Styler Dry Shampoo. It smells a bit weird but does the job so I don't mind so much. I also use my beloved Kerastase Ciment Thermique after washing my hair to protect it from any heat styling tools.

I'm currently using a rubbish hairdryer because mine blew up, so I havn't included a photo. I leave my hair to dry naturally until its about 60% dry then blast my hair upside down with my hairdryer. I always comb my hair, never brush it. Its just a personal preference. I use  a Lee Stafford wide tooth comb.

I rarely straighten my hair, if I do I will use my Cloud Nine Straighteners on 150 degrees. Usually I'll just let my hair do whatever it wants or tie it up in some sort of bun or top knot. If I have spare time or if I'm going out I'll curl my hair using my Babyliss Conical Wand on the maximum temperature. This is what I always use to create my curls and waves. I find it usually looks better when the curls have been left to drop a little bit, but thats just me.

In terms of styling products I love volumising products. My favourite volumising product is Paul Mitchells "Thicken Up" I've had a bottle of this forever and I'll always repurchase. It lasts for such a long time its amazing. Its a clear gel that you apply to damp hair before blowdrying to add extra volume. I dont apply to the roots just through the lengths of the hair.

Other styling products I enjoy using are Phil Smith's Xplosive Volume Spray, Bed Head After party if I'm looking a little bit too frizzy, any hairspray that happens to be on offer at the time, and of course Umberto Giannini's Backcomb in a Bottle. I should also add I never backcomb my hair.

And I think that cover's everything. My hair extensions of choice are by Foxy Locks Extensions and I'm the shade #6 Chestnut Brown. You can read more about them in this post. Nothing really revolutionary here but thought I would share seeing as so many of you have asked for it. Have a happy Sunday!

  1. Great post, I always love to read what people use to keep their locks lovely! I'm amazed to see how many people use that Aussie shampoo; it makes my scalp weep and doesn't do that much for my hair at all! Sorry for the horrible mental image!

  3. Great posts! Well done on not dying/cutting your hair for so long. I just can't help myself, I get bored with my hair really easily! I don't cut my hair very often though. Maybe 3-4 times a year if that, and I've gone a year before without cutting it.
