Today was absolutely freezing up north. I had to whip out this lovely little jumper that I bought from New Look back in winter. I also had to straighten my hair, which I wasn't happy about. I'm not a fan of limp hair. Bring on the volume and lots of it.

1. I went to see Pete Doherty on Thursday and it was by far the best night of this year so far. Seriously. He was absolutely incredible. I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but I personally love him. I think he is such a talented poet and musician despite his demons, and I can not wait to see him again in September. There was something quite bittersweet about the fact that he got sent to prison the morning after the gig. Especially as it was a completely spur of the moment decision to go. I literally found out he was playing the O2 Academy in Leeds at about 4.30pm and decided to go and get there for 7pm. I feel lucky to have been able to see him, and managed to record a few videos on my phone. This is one of my favourite songs and I managed to record the whole thing :)
2. I don't know if I mentioned before but I'm attempting to learn to play the guitar! I've always wanted to play and I've actually had a guitar for about 5 years now. I just couldn't afford to both piano lessons and guitar lessons at the same time. I'm going to take advantage of a few of my friends who play and see what I can pick up from them. One thing I've already learnt though is that I'm going to have to toughen up. After about half an hour my fingers literally felt like they were bleeding. If you know any good websites or anything for the likes of me looking to teach themselves how to play please pop them in the comments and I'll love you forever!
3. I've been doing a lot of mental shopping this week. I absolutely hate not having any money. I'd go as far as saying I hate it with a passion. So far I want a Kindle, a Roberts Revival DAB Radio, and the Sugar Mary Jane Platforms from Topshop. Rather modest dont you think?
4. I have got so many blog posts I want to do. I'm going to try and get lots of them up this week. I've been super busy at the moment but things are slowly starting to get back to normal, so all being well I'll be able to get a couple of them up this week.
5. My Raybans finally arrived! Will share them with you in tomorrows post :)
You look so lovely and fresh faced, beautiful! I think your blogging style is very nice, and I do believe its nice to add some personal things sometimes, so the reader feels like they can get to know you a little!
ReplyDeleteCannot wait to see the raybans! :D x
I love my kindle I would definately recommend you getting one :)
ReplyDeleteI was meant to see Pete in Glasgow, but it was the day he got jailed, gutter. Those shoes are gorgeous! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou look so pretty! I taught myself how to play guitar about 5 years ago, I don't play it that often but I learnt how to play chords and stuff so I can play most basic songs.
ReplyDeleteI learnt off ultimate-guitar.com (I think that's it) and people post songs and the chords (some of them are not correct so you have to watch out)and you can hover over the chord and see which finger has to go on what string and what fret for a certain chord xx
i loooove your eiffel tower necklace!x
ReplyDeleteAnother gorgeous picture of you. I quite like Pete Doherty - it's such a shame that he can't get his life on track really. I adore the For Lovers song he did <3 xx
ReplyDeleteLoving how fresh faced and free you look in this post! Well done on learning to play the guitar, so many people dont bother to further their skills once they leave school. I want to finish learn french haha xx :o)
ReplyDeleteThis is def my fave Libertines song, at one stage I wanted a tattoo of some of the lyrics. Really jealous, is he at Leeds again in September? Literally all of my friends hate him :'( Your hair looks nice straightened hun xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post! I'm not a fan of Pete Doherty at all but I did see him live a few years ago and the show was pretty damn good!
ReplyDeleteI have one of the Roberts radios in a Cath Kidston print, it is one of my most precious items.... especially as you can play your ipod through it! x
Great video, one of my fave Libertines songs. Hope they get back together at some point!x
ReplyDeletePS: You can snap up an actual Roberts 50s radio on Ebay for much less than those modern revival ones. They're a bit shabby around the edges but great if you love the real vintage-y vibe. I only know this because I so badly wanted an original after seeing an original 50s one at my brother-in-law's Mum's recently!xx
ReplyDeleteYour foundation looks great here, I really want to try Mat Lumiere but I have sensitive skin and I have heard the alcohol in Chanel foundations can break people's skin out?? And my Chanel counter is a a bit snobby when giving samples. booo xx
ReplyDeletemy bf taught himself guitar by using the hal leonard books, i know that sounds geeky but he is really good and self taught :D
