River Island Jeans Swap

Last week I was invited to an event held by River Island in Liverpool. Unfortunately I couldn't make it but I still really want to blog about it because I think its awesome. The event in question was the River Island Jeans Swap, and it was basically where you could go along to the River Island store in Liverpool and swap your old jeans for a pair of new ones, and the old pair were donated to charity!

Over 150 people went along to the event including bloggers and locals. I did tweet a few tweets encouraging people to go along too, as literally everyone who was willing to drop their jeans in the street walked away wearing a brand new pair of jeans. The campaign was in celebration of River Island's Denim Week, but most importantly the old jeans would be donated to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer. 112 items in total were donated which I think is brilliant. Just good clean fun, and all for a good cause. Win. I really wish I could have made it, and if theres ever another event up north (like in Leeds for example hint hint) I'll be there with bells on!

Did any of you go along to the Jeans Swap?

  1. I wish I was back home in Liverpool, I would have loved to have gone and stripped for charity! It's for such a good cause: breast cancer charities are so close to my heart, as I have an aunt who's recovering from breat cancer. Plus, you get a pair of gorgeous River Island jeans absolutely free!
