Monday Summary

This week was payday! So I bought some lovely new things. This weeks Monday Summary is just going to be photo based I hope you dont mind!

Drinks with my bestest friend in the whole wide world. I ended up really rather drunk. It was excellent!

New blouse from Topshop. They only had one left in a size 12. It was meant to be! Yes my room is messy. It always is. I'm just a messy person.

Little Sid made a break for it and legged it upstairs to see me. Too cute!

The most amazing sky on my way home from work. So unbelievably beautiful.

New watch courtesy of my Grandad. Its super old and he's had it for years. I've been eyeing it up for a while and when I mentioned it to him and he said I could have it for my birthday. Love it so so much!

And for this evening's purchases. I know I'm shoe mad at the moment but these were essential. I did say I was looking for a pair of mid height heels in my last post and these babies just cried out to me. Perfect for both work and play. They're from Dune, and they're gorgeous. End. Of.

And finally this lightweight cropped jumper from River Island. These days when I buy things like this I ask myself will I still be able to get away with this when I've lost weight. If the answer is yes then I don't think twice about buying it, otherwise I give it a bit more thought. I also have straight hair today. I kind of hate it, I feel like a bit of old limp lettuce!

My favourite Shoes; you will see a theme, I like black wedges and thats about it haha! I've made a new rule recently that I will wear heels every weekend in a bid to get me wearing my heels more than just for a night out. I've managed to stick to this for the last 3 weeks which I like to think of as progress!

I bought these boots from New Look a couple of years ago, I originally saw them and didn't buy them and regretted it immediately. Luckily I managed to bag them in the half price sale so all wasn't lost.

I got these beauts recently from Topshop. They are just like some Miu Miu ones I love. Win.

These were featured in yesterdays OOTD post, they have them in Blue in River Island if you want some! I got mine for Christmas, they make me so bloody tall I love them!

The humble ballerina. I live in these Monday to Friday. These ones are from New Look, I think they cost £7, total bargain.

The graduation shoes. I wore these to my graduation last July, they are from Carvela and are much nicer in the flesh. This photo doesn't do them justice at all!

My current shoe of choice, I bought these peep toe shoe boots from New Look last month, possibly the comfiest heels I have ever owned. I walked around the Trafford Centre in these baby's, which is testament to how comfy they are.

Another shoe boot from New Look, but these have no platforms so are a little bit more uncomfortable to wear. Still look really nice on though.

These shoes from Topshop are gorgeous, but I have to confess, I am yet to leave the house with them on. They are seriously uncomfortable, I literally can not walk in them. One day though!

I bought these ages ago from ASOS and I think they still have them, they are called Randel or something like that. I like to think of these as my witch shoes. Not quite sure why but I could totally see a witch rocking these shoes!

I'm all about shoes at the moment, I know a lot of them are really similar but I like what I like. I'm still on the search for some really nice mid height heels I can wear with tights and shorts for work during the week. If you have any ideas please let me know in the comments and I'll be sure to check them out.

We should have each other with cream

I thought I'd do a little outfit of the day post for you all today! This is pretty much what I look like every single day of the week, you wont find any jeans or trousers here I'm afraid!

Blouse & Shorts - Topshop
Wedges - River Island
Watch - Michael Kors
Bracelet - Gift
2 Pairs of 100 Denier Tights

My hair also looks like this every day, I just leave it to go wild and then add a few more defined waves with the conical wand, Apologies for the crappy iphone photos, I've been without my camera charger for a week, thats why my Hair and Skincare posts aren't up yet, they will be soon though I promise!

I kept my face simple, as always! Maybelline 24 hours foundation is my new favourite, I've worn nothing else since I bought it over a month ago. I've also stopped wearing blusher (shock horror) not sure why, just going through a phase.

Maybelline 24 hour foundation
Loreal Concealer
Rimmel Lash Accelerator Mascara
Rimmel Glam Eyes Liquid Liner

Monday Summary

1. This week I placed a Topshop order and out of the 3 things I ordered I'm only keeping one item. Its the most gorgeous ever blouse. Its a pale pink peter pan collared blouse and honestly its the nicest blouse I own. I also ordered a shirt but that hasn't arrived yet. If you remember the black and white peter pan collared blouse I bought from New Look, well I wouldn't recommend it. It shrunk by like a third of its size after the first wash and I had to return it. When I did they said they had had several people all returning it for exactly the same reason. I'm really hoping this will not have a similar fate.

2. Its my birthday on 6th of March so only a couple of weeks away. Its also only a week until Penelope arrives woop! Adam and I are planning on going down to London for the night and going to see a show. I think I fancy seeing Wicked, so if you know any nice hotels in Piccadilly please let me know!

3. This weekend I saw The Kings Speech. I kid you not it is such an incredible film I absolutely loved it. Its a must see so if you havn't already watched it yet at the cinema what are you waiting for?

4. I had some drinks this weekend with Karen. I had gin for the first time and liked it! The trick is to have it with lemonade in my case, its really rather nice!

5.  I got carried away the other evening on Net a Porter & Monica Vinader and placed a mahoosive order... I WISH. No I created a fantasy shopping basket which included

1. Stella Mccartney Falabella Bag
2. Miu Miu Purse
3. Monica Vinader Marie Necklace
4. Monica Vinader Cornflower Chalcedony Ring
5. Diane Von Furstenberg Blouse

Wouldn't it be amazing if my fairy godmother got me all of this for my birthday.. A girl can dream!

Monday Summary - On a Wednesday

Can you forgive me? I'm so sorry this is late, this is literally the first chance I have had to sit down and blog this week. I even missed my Weightwatchers meeting tonight, and havn't made it to one Zumba class this week either. I've started my full time hours now, 9-5.30 which means I now get home an hour later than before. I'm sure by next week I will have adjusted but you'll just have to bear with me :)

1. My blog has been featured on Bloglovin's Top Ten Up and Coming blogs. I can not begin to tell you how happy this made me when Sabrina told me. I put a lot of effort into my blog so its really nice when things like this happen. It well and truly made my day.

2. I finally got my hands on my iphone 4. Yes my upgrade day finally came after what felt like an eternity and I was like a giddy kid when I went to the shop to get it.

3. I am finally starting to feel confident about this Grade 5 Music Theory. I'm working towards my exam in March and slowly but surely I really think I'm getting there. Its ridiculously hard in my personal opinion, especially when I have done zero music theory before other than learning to read music and play the piano. Today I learnt how to compose a melody and finally cracked transposition. It may sound silly but I really think I was made to play the piano, I can't ever imagine a time when I would stop playing.

4. I lost weight again this week, although I havn't made it to Weightwatchers I weighed myself at home and I've lost another 2lbs. Slow and steady wins the race, I really do feel like I 'm getting somewhere, and it feels great.

5. Follow

Ps Sorry for a lack of snaps this week, I literally have taken no photos whatsoever, will make it up to you next week I promise xx

You wanna be starting something?

Evenin' all.

Well firstly thanks for all the lovely comments on my last post! They made my day and made me feel great. I hope you dont mind me using song lyrics for some blogpost titles, sometimes its tricky to come up with a title and I am always listening to music, so it makes sense. This week has absolutely flown by, its a good thing though. I managed to convince Adam to take me to Leeds after work tonight so I could get a new diary. I'm sorry but the pathetic excuse of a diary from WHSmiths just aint cutting it! The nearest Paperchase is in Leeds and luckily Adam was feeling kind and took me over. I'm without my car now until my new one arrives. She's sat in the driveway looking all lonely. The reason is because I didn't want to spend £80 on tax when I'm getting Penelope (yes thats the new cars name) on March 1st. Its awful not having my little brum brum, I feel like it plays a big part in my feeling independent. I'm insured on Adams car so I've been using that when I need to but still theres nothing like being able to take yourself wherever you want, whenever you want.
So here's the bits I got tonight, you've seen it once you've seen it a thousand times, my obsession with stationary. I will be buying stationary when I'm claiming my pension I tells ya!

So I bought a nice diary, they also do it in purple and black. 2 pens, a sweet little heart one and a black gel pen, really liking writing in liquid/gel inks at the moment *saddo, cant quite believe I'm admitting this.* Then I got some stickers, why? God knows, I thought I would find a use for them somewhere but now I'm starting to question my motives, and finally a Money Planner. I think theres a fine line with what you should and shouldn't divulge online, but I really want to pay off my debt. I'm not in masses of debt but I do have a pesky overdraft and credit card that I want to pay off once and for all. I'm also really serious about saving up so want to learn to manage my money better. I'm hoping this little file will help me keep track and most importantly control my pennies.

I also finally got the Jimmy Choo fragrance. I first sniffed this at the Trafford Centre and it immediately reminded me of another perfume. I can't for the life in me what it is but its really nice. Laura was the only one who took the plunge and bought it, I'm glad I waited because Adam ended up buying for me as a Valentines treat! I was also very pleasantly surprised when the lady at Boots popped in three samples to put in my handbag, very generous and it means I can use them until I'm allowed my big bottle on Monday.

I'm thinking of things to do this weekend and I really fancy going to a Zoo or Safari Park, something along those lines. Any ideas? Also are there any particular blogposts you would like to see? I'm planning on doing a series that could potentially go on forever. I'm going to do one each week and it will be "My Top Ten..." I think this is a great way to share with you my favourite things and any stories behind them. I'm thinking Top ten books, films, shops, music artists, foods, places to visit, websites, shoes, holiday destinations I'd love to visit, you get my drift. I'm going to do the first one this weekend and one every weekend after then :) Let me know if you think its a good idea and I'll get my thinking cap on for more of my Top Tens!

PS for those of you who asked the Mac I was wearing in my last post is this one from New Look.

Monday Summary

I have had such a good week. Things are really on the up for me I think kids. So far I get a really good feeling about my new job, and I just feel generally happier in myself. I think I look happier and healthier too, here's my 8am face.

So time for 5 good things:

1. ZUMBA. I kid you not I am obsessed. I would literally go every single night of the week if I could. My instructor on a Monday is amazing, its by far my favourite class. I just found out she does a class on a Tuesday and a Thursday that I can get to and I have already rang up and booked in for both. So I will be going Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Of course I understand its not for everyone, but it 100% for me. It's totally rekindled my love of dancing and I come out of there feeling so good. Win.

2. This weekend I went to the Trafford Centre with the bestie and one of our really good friends from University Lianne. We had such a lovely time and it was so good to catch up with her.

I think that friendships that you care about take effort.  This may sound silly but its not really. The friends that matter the most, you will make an effort to meet up with them because they are worth that effort. The ones that dont are the ones where inevitably you lose touch with and bump into in the Frozen Veg Aisle in the Supermarket 10 years later. Pick up the phone and call your friends people!

3. I recorded a cooking video this evening. Believe it or not these are my most requested videos. They take a lot of time to prepare, record and edit but I'm going to try and do at least once a month. Hopefully it will be up before the end of the week, and I will post it along with the recipe in a blogpost too.

4. I got these cute little Reebok Pumps for Zumba and stuff. I was wearing some really old crappy trainers that I've had for about 3 years so I thought these were more than justified. They were only £20 as well, such a bargain!

5. I styled my hair with a conical wand. Love it! I always do it messily, and the night before. I'm working on a HUGE Hair post so stay tuned for all of my not so secret trade secrets :)

One of the friends I've made in my new job told me her mantra today and it really stuck with me, so I want to spread it and share it with you.

"Make it happen."

Kissable Lips with Nivea Hydro Care

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky enough to get sent the latest lip care offering from Nivea to make sure that my lips are in top condition for some smooching on Valentines Day. Nivea Hydro Care is the first lip care product to use Aquaspheres which absorb into the lips quickly and provide long lasting moisture. Here's what Nivea say about it:

"Enriched with Pure Water to hydrate and Aloe Vera which soothes; this wonder product leaves lips moisturised to the max!
Water constantly evaporates out of the lips and can leave them dry and chapped.  NEW NIVEA Hydro Care provides an occlusive lipid film that helps the moisture remain in the skin of the lips.  HOWEVER unlike other brands on the market this is not simply a barrier that sits on the lips and doesn’t moisturise BUT offers intensive moisture and hydration deep within the lips tissue.  The occlusive action of Hydro Care leads to a reduction of water loss keeping lips hydrated for longer."

I can confirm that this lip balm is lovely and moisturising, and has been in my handbag since I got it. Its also really affordable at around £2 depending on where you buy it. My lips are nice and soft and all ready for a cheeky Valentines kiss. You all know I have a bit of a thing for Mr Depp, but after watching Burlesque the other day I have to say I wouldn't say no to a Valentines snog with Cam Gigandet as he is in Burlesque. He is just too hot for words. Seriously.

Who would you have a Valentines Kiss with if you had the chance? Answers on a postcard, or the comments box will do just fine :)

*This post was sponsered by Nivea and I was sent the Hydro Care Lip Balm for Review Purposes.

Monday Summary (late)

So sorry this weeks summary is late. I'm rushed off my feet at the moment with my new job and adjusting to the early nights and even earlier mornings. After a couple of months of not really having to get up early its quite a shock to the system to hear the alarm going off at what feels like an hour that should be criminal.

1. So in terms of my new job, I've got about a week and a half of training then I start my actual job. There is a lot to learn and I'm super tired at the end of the day from all the brainwork but its all good and I'm glad to be finding myself back in a routine and having my independence. I'm based in the Thomas Cook Head Offices and I'm working in the Customer Relations Department in a Correspondence Team. Its all sounds really interesting so far and I'm keen to get stuck in.

2. As you all know it was my mums birthday this week. She had a lovely day (so did we) and I'm so lucky to have a mum like her. I got her a Spongebob Squarepants cake because she loves him. I had a sneaky piece and I can confirm it was delicious. :)

2. I got a new car this week. I dont get her until March 1st as shes a brand spanker and she is totally gorgeous and a very nice and unexpected surprise. I've been umming and ahhing about whether to sell my current car and get a bicycle or get a new car. Obviously I would save alot of money by selling my car aswell as many other pros, but it would also have a lot of disadvantages and I know for a fact I would miss my independence. My car is a few years old now and although I still love her theres one or two niggles and ultimately its decreasing in value. Today I took her in for her MOT and she passed and I got chatting to the guys there and told them my predicament. To cut a long story short, my new car will actually cost me less on the whole - yes really. I couldn't believe it either. Its the lowest insurance group, is twice as economical on petrol as my current car, and is £20 a year for road tax as opposed to my current £180. I am one very happy lady. I took a couple of quick snaps at the garage, and she's a Peugeot 107 Special Edition Envy. Now all I need are name suggestions? All ideas in the comments please :)

3. I missed Zumba this week, which I was devastated about as its really boosting my weight loss. I simply didn't ring up and book in time and the class was fully booked. I took to doing my 20 minute Zumba workout in my bedroom and I'm going to try and get to a class tomorrow evening. Cross your fingers for me that it isn't fully booked!

Thats it this week guys, sorry its short but I'm just adjusting to the longer days, I'll be back on full form next week I hope.
