OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender Review

So I bought OPI's Lucky Lucky Lavender Nail Polish from Lydia's Blog Sale a few weeks ago and decided last night to give it a whirl.

What a nightmare that turned out to be. It was ridiculously streaky even with the first coat. I left it a good ten minutes before I even attempted to apply another coat. The same thing happened when I with the second coat. I thought this is going to have to come straight off. However it actually dried back really nicely, with pretty much no streaks!

This really surprised me because usually when a nail polish is streaky in the application stage it almost always dries back awful. From the photo you can see its definitely not as streaky as I first thought. I think a third coat would be needed though to get a completely smooth finish, but I'm just far too lazy to do that!

In terms of the colour I love it! Its just such a gorgeous lilac colour, perfect for summer!

Have any of you tried Lucky Lucky Lavender? What are your thoughts?

Mac Patina and Satin Taupe

Mac Patina and Mac Satin Taupe are a match made in heaven.

I normally don't wear any eyeshadow whatsoever but when I do this is the combo I go for. I think its just the right mix of simple yet noticeable, and takes literally 2 minutes to apply.

Its the "I havnt made an effort today eyeshadow" haha!! Oh by the way some of you were asking about my lashes without mascara, well I'm not wearing any mascara, eyeliner etc in the above picture to give you an idea what they're like "bare"

What are your favourite one swipe eyeshadows that you reach for in a morning when you've slept in and are running late? I'm itching for a couple of new eyeshadows.

I caved in...

I gave in and bought the Nars Sheer Glow!!

Nars Love

On Tuesday I was in Leeds City Centre and used this opportunity wisely. By this I mean I headed straight to Harvey Nicks like a heat seeking missile and hit the Nars Counter.

I wanted to be colour matched and get my mitts on a tester for Nars Sheer Glow Foundation.

The lovely counter assistant Joanna didnt only colour match me, but said if I went and picked up a few sample pots from Muji she'd give me the full skin care range of samples that she thought I needed!!

I was colour matched to Mont Blanc and headed to pick up some sample pots from Muji. Joanna was absolutely lovely, and by far the most informative, pleasant, generous counter assistant I've ever come across. She also commented on the length of my lashes asking if I was wearing falsies because they "are enormous" and also said I was a real "blusher girl" :)

The samples she gave me were beyond generous and the skin care products she gave me are really lovely. The only problem is this. These products are expensive, and by expensive I mean EXPENSIVE. To me these skincare products are priced at higher than higher end. (The moisturiser alone is £40 *ouch*)

The products she gave me were:

Balancing Foam Cleanser (£24.50)

Balancing Moisture Lotion (£40.00)

Hyrdating Freshening Lotion (£27.00)

Mud Mask (£33.00)

Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (£29.00)

And despite the fact they really are lovely products there is no way on the planet they are worth the combined £100 there abouts to purchase them. This makes me sad, because if the price was right I'd have already purchased these products and would be writing a different post recommending them.

Lovely products but seriously overpriced.

As for the foundation, I'm still undecided so will keep schtum until I've decided to go ahead and purchase a full size or not.

And here it is when I applied it today, also I'm not wearing any concealer today... I always wear concealer!

To finish on a positive, I can not praise the Nars Counter Assistant Joanna enough, I'm tempted to email Nars and tell them how superb she was! Its a rare treat to find make up counter staff who are actually nice!

Essie Haul

So I decided to treat myself to some new nail polishes (like I need anymore)

I placed an order from a fantastic eBay seller who sells OPI, Essie, China Glaze, at bargain prices (we're talking £2-4 a bottle and the same for shipping) For the four polishes I bought including shipping it cost just under £20. (Amazing considering Essie is about £10 a bottle in the UK) The order came within less than a week and I can't recommend the seller highly enough. So here's the line up!

Demure Vixen, Knockout Pout, Pretty Edgy, Haute as Hello

I've swatched them all and love them all equally.

Demure Vixen is a classic mink with a twist. It has the most gorgeous pink and blue microshimmer running through it which is just gorgeous.

Knockout Pink is the ULTIMATE Barbie Pink. Word. It looks different in the bottle compared to how it looks on the nails.

Pretty Edgy is an excellent dupe for OPI's Jade is the New Black. A welcome break from my "safe" colours

Haute as Hello is a lovely coral. Just the right mix of pink and peach. A definite winner. I've got a feeling though that out of all 4 of the polishes this will be the worst to apply. I can imagine it being quite thick with a tendency to go streaky.

Will upload pics of me wearing them as an when I wear them :) I'm hoping these are all "good Essie" as we all know theres Good Essie, and Bad Essie, heres hoping they aren't the latter

I sport this look often. I like the effect that coloured liners on and just below the waterline provide. Its pretty much the only place I will wear colour on my eyes.

The foundation is a little bit on the yellow side for me, but I think its an ok match.

Also FYI, I can no longer sport a nude or super pale lip. Seriously, I just feel ridiculous when I try! Gone are the days of Gosh Darling :( This is the furthest I can push it these days!

Oh and a final note, I applied my Eyeliner at 9am this morning, and by 9pm at night, after leaving the gym the eyeliner was still in tact. Thats pretty impressive if you ask me.

I love coloured liner on the water line, you should try it!
