The Lemon Detox - Master Cleanse.

Tomorrow I will be attempting to do the Lemon Detox, which is also known as the Master Cleanse or The Maple Syrup Diet. Many people believe that this is the "Beyonce Diet" but it has actually been around for over 30 years! The detox boasts all of the common benefits that most detox's offer and I think its an excellent opportunity to give my body a rest and get rid of lots of nasty toxins.
The main element of the detox is mixing Maple Syrup, Lemon Juice, Cayenne Pepper and Water, and drinking 7-10 glasses of this drink throughout the day. No food or Drink should be consumed throughout the day, other than water. A laxative tea in the evening is also recommended (not too keen on that notion!)
It is pretty hardcore, the detox suggests that beginners do the detox for 3-5 days, and more advanced users up to 7-10 days.
I am going to aim for 3 days to begin with, If i can go for longer that's a bonus but the initial aim is for three days.
I paid £40 for the Natural Tree Syrup, Book and Cayenne Pepper, but i believe that you can use Grade B Maple Syrup, which is available in most Health Food Stores and costs around £5.
I will keep you updated as i go though the detox, I think I'm underestimating how difficult this will be? There are a lot of criticisms about the detox but also lots of positive reviews too! There is only one way to find out what its really like, and thats by trying it out!
